Meet Grace.... She's a beautiful little ballerina I've had the privilege to photograph twice. Grace was one of the babies that entered the "Niagara's Cutest Baby Contest" at Peekaboo Bottoms this past March. Her mom brought her in for the contest in this adorable little tutu but I knew that I wasn't going to be taking full length photographs for the contest that day. It seemed such a shame to miss out on photographing the whole look so I told her that if she brought Grace to me for a portrait session later on that she would have to have her wear this outfit! It wasn't long after the contest that Grace's mom contacted me and we had an appointment all set up. Thank you so much to Grace and her mom Julie for giving me the opportunity to photograph this real life doll!

The Superstars of the GHL - Niagara Sports Photography

It's been a long time since I've blogged. I've been crazy busy here and have been working on a whole bunch of new things. I've got to get them all posted but, in the meantime, I'm going to do things a little out of order here. I had some fun this past Friday night and went out to my husbands hockey game to take some photos. Here's the superstar himself!

I had such a blast taking these photos. Normally, I'd be playing hockey myself but I decided to take the summer season off. There was just too much going on and too much planning to do! The Ancaster Wedding Show At Night

As some of you already know, (because of my constant boasting), I'm going to be on CHCH's Wedding Wednesdays segment on the morning of March 23rd. Three years ago, I photographed the wedding of Rob and Tiffany. Tiffany is now the organizer for the Ancaster Wedding Show At Night and Tiffany is my connection to CHCH. They're going to be doing some advertising on CHCH for the bridal show and asked if I appear on Wedding Wednesdays as part of a promotion for the show.

"The Ancaster Wedding Show At Night" is being held on Friday March 25th, between 4pm and 9 pm at the new Ancaster Fairgrounds.

The exhibitors will showcase the most sought after products and services so that you can really see, feel, hear and taste their work. The Ancaster Wedding Show at Night aims to give brides and grooms the convenience of having face to face contact with whom you are considering for your wedding and the exclusive show only specials will save you money. Dave & Misha - St. Catharines wedding

The day finally came. Dave & Misha's wedding day at Hernder Estate Wines. I think I was just as excited as they were! I had spent quite a bit of time with Dave & Misha before the wedding and like most of my clients, I consider them friends. I guess that's what made it so easy to get wrapped up in what they were feeling that day.

As Misha came down the staircase to see her groom for the first time that day, I don't think there was a dry eye in the house including mine. This couple is so sweet, and so in love, that you just can't help but be pulled into the emotion.

Thank you to Sandra of "Before and After Professional Makeup" for the wonderful job she did with Misha's makeup. She was absolutely stunning and it stayed on all day regardless of how much Misha cried! LOL! Also, a thank you to Penny at "Hernder Estate Wines" for her amazing wedding coordination. Everything ran right on time and went off without a hitch. Penny was so handy to have around as she held the sweaters for some of the girls in the wedding party as we took photos. As if she didn't have enough to do!

Dave & Misha... I wish you all the best for the days ahead! Thank you so much for making me a part of such a special day for the two of you!

Niagara's Cutest Baby Contest Photos - Niagara Falls Portrait Photographer

Wow! What an unbelievable turnout we had! On Friday March 4th, I teamed up with Amy from Peekaboo Bottoms to hold, "Niagara's Cutest Baby Contest". 65 of the most adorable babies you've ever seen showed up to enter. It was a busy day to say the least! We shot from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and had an absolute blast doing it! The only thing you can't get out of these photos is the sound of the giggles. There is just no better sound in the world than a baby laughing.

A winner will be chosen to star in an ad to be used by Peekaboo Bottoms to promote their cloth diapers. Peekaboo Bottoms will be donating a diaper package worth $150. The winner will also receive a gift package from me... an 8x10 mounted print of the ad as well as a "sweet cheeks" baby session which includes the session fee, a set of 3 accordian books to showcase 9 images from the session, and a 16x24 print of the image of your choice. Colangelo Family - Niagara Falls Family Portraiture

This shoot wasn't done on family day but family was definitely the focus in the Colangelo household... Lucy and Larry wanted a family portrait that wasn't just your traditional, "here's what we look like" kind of photo, but one that would capture what really makes them a family.

Lucy told me all about their weekend ritual and wanted to record it because they're not little forever and who knows how much longer it will be until the kids feel too cool to climb into bed with mom and dad! When the kids wake up, they run into mom and dad's room for a little undivided attention. They all cuddle in and relax just spending some time with one another chatting, reading books, and laughing. The kids know that this is their time. There's no TV, no phones ringing and nothing to distract their parents. It's all about them.

In today's busy lives, it's so refreshing to see a family that has set aside the time to just be together. As a photographer, I'm always trying to bring out the personalities of my subjects and set them at ease to be themselves. This was a great way to do it! My sincere thanks to Larry, Lucy, Roman & Julia!

Oh boy! Have I got a treat for you! I've teamed up with Amy at Peekaboo Bottoms in Welland to bring you "Niagara's Cutest Baby" contest. We are so excited about this!

Dave & Misha - Hernder Estate Wines

What a beautiful snowy day it was... I woke up that December morning really looking forward to going out to do this engagement session and once I saw the snow, it was just the icing on the cake. Dave and Misha are getting married at Hernder Estate Wines on March 12th where we also did their engagement shoot. Misha really loved the bridge there and wanted to get some wintery bridge shots. With the way the weather is going, we may end up having some wintery wedding photos too!

Believe it or not, in my 12 years of photographing weddings, I've never photographed a wedding at Hernder's. I love the rustic appeal of this venue. There were so many little nooks and crannies to incorporate into the photographs that it was just a hay day for me! Dave and Misha are such a cute, sweet couple. I just know we're going to have a blast! This is going to be another wedding where I can't wait to get home to create their proofs.

My "Purse Cam" - "My Funny Little Valentine Breakfast"

I'm starting a series of posts that I'm going to call "Purse Cam". I carry around a little point and shoot in my purse at all times. This is due mainly to the fact that if I carried my Canon 5D in my purse, it would just be heavy.

It was up at the crack of dawn for me this morning. No, it wasn't to go capture the sunrise over the falls or anything like that. I had the pleasure of joining Bev Hodgson and friends at the Americana this morning for the 4th Annual "My Funny Little Valentine Breakfast" at 7:00 a.m. Now I am NOT a morning person but this was something I've done with Bev for the last three years now and have really enjoyed.

"Zonta International is a global organization of Niagara Falls executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide."

Yup! That's straight out of the program I received at the event this morning. The breakfast they host is a, "fundraiser for Women's Place of South Niagara, Family and Children's Services of Niagara and other local agencies".... Again.... straight from the program. LOL!

They always put on such a great show. Their emcee this morning was Mark Matthews who many of you know from Yuk Yuk's in Niagara Falls. He's a very funny guy who I see all over the place helping out wherever he can. The entertainment was Judy Croon. Another local comedienne who did a great job at keeping us all laughing... and just plain waking us up!

I've included a photo of the ladies at my table this morning. I'm so fortunate to meet such great people all the time. Looking forward to next year ladies and thanks again for the invitation Bev!

X Factor Show

Well.... Here we go... My first blog post. Yes,... I'm a little behind the times with this blog thing but I'm just not much of a talker. Then I got thinking about all of the things I could be talking about and what better place to start than with the X Factor show. Definitely an inspiration! :)

On Friday night, the "X Factor Show" was held at The Seneca Queen Theatre in downtown Niagara Falls. It was presented by Bev Hodgson and Ken Lankin Mortgage Intelligence with a portion of the proceeds going to the Niagara Falls YWCA. Three comediennes were our entertainment as well as a visit from a few Niagara Falls firefighters. That's where I come in.... Yay! I got to take photos of the ladies in attendance with these three handsome firefighters. Ah yes... my job.... someone has to do it! Of course, I had to jump in to have my photo taken as well. I couldn't let this opportunity pass me by. I want to thank firefighters Aaron, Paul and Brandon who were such great sports. Here's a few of the images we captured that night....
